Frequently Asked Questions
What is BCPS One?
BCPS One is a key initiative that will provide a fully integrated system that brings together all of the district's programs and initiatives around student data, assessments, curriculum, instruction, reporting and analysis into a single user-friendly platform. Through BCPS One, educators are also able to communicate classroom level information to students and parents.
I already have a myBCPS account. What do I have to do to access my student's information for the new school year?
The short answer, nothing! Your myBCPS account will remain active as long as your student is enrolled in a BCPS school. Your student's information will be set up for the upcoming school year in August. If you still see last year's grades on the grading screen, be sure to click on the marking period in the upper right corner to change it to the current marking period. If your student has changed schools and the old school still appears when you first log in, click on the school name in the top center of the screen to switch to the new school. Once you make either of these changes, these selections will be remembered the next time you log in.
I have a new student entering BCPS this school year. How do I add them to my account?
Your school will issue a Parent Verification Code for your new student. When you receive this code, log in to the myBCPS account manager and click "Add A Student" to use the new code. Parent Verification Codes do expire, so be sure to enter your new student as soon as you receive the code.

How do I access my student's grades and assignments in BCPS One?
Currently, parents are directed to the Learning Management System (LMS) that houses grades and assignments as soon as they click the "Parent Login" button and successfully enter their account credentials. After our summer renovation, parents will click on the new "Learning Management System" icon after logging in to view student's grades and assignments. The first screen in the LMS presents grades for your first student. (See next question if you have more than one student in BCPS One.)
How do I switch between my students?
If you have added more than one student to your myBCPS account, you can switch between students by clicking on either the school name, if the students are at different schools, or the students name if the students attend the same school. Clicking on these areas will reveal the other schools and students associated with your account.
How do I contact my student's teacher?
There are several ways to contact your student's teacher. Each school maintains a staff directory on their school web site and each teacher can list their preferred contact methods on their directory profile. Visit the BCPS School Directory to find the school's web site URL. You can also message your student's teacher directly through BCPS One. Watch this video to learn how to access BCPS One Messaging.
